Vrat Recipe: Apple Banana Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is my personal favourite. Whenever i crave for a chilled drink which is nutritious as well as easy to make, i prepare it myself. You can find so many different recipes of this smoothie but everyone has a personal thing about their favourite recipe and i too encourage you to make some changes to this recipe according to your personal preferences.

Now, this smoothie is not only limited to the fasts, but you can enjoy it any time of the year as the ingredients of this recipe are available all year round. So, why wait for any vrat or fast to come and why indulge yourself in those high-caloric, chemical rich drinks when you can make yourself a tempting and healthy drink, which is full of healthy fats, fibre, vitamins and minerals. So, let's start the recipe.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

Ripe Frozen Banana: 1

Apple: 1

Almond Milk: 1 cup

Chopped Almonds: 1/2 tsp

Chopped Cashew nut: 1/2 tsp

Raisins: 4-5

Homemade Peanut Butter: 1 tbsp

Greek Yogurt: 2 tbsp (optional) (non flavoured)

Sugar or honey: as per taste

Method:

  • In a blender, blend chopped frozen banana and apple with almond milk.

  • When a little blend, add peanut butter, sugar or honey and Greek yogurt and blend again.

  • Serve in a glass and garnish with finely chopped almonds, cashews and raisins.

  • If having it during fast, combine it with other snacks which are allowed in fast.

Notes:

  • You can also use normal milk, but then do not add yogurt in it.

  • You can also use any other dry fruits to garnish.

  • If you are preparing it during fasts, i would suggest to only use homemade peanut butter. If you do not have that, omit this ingredient.

  • You can also use fresh banana instead of frozen banana. Frozen banana will give it a more creamier taste.
