Back in the days when i started my career 10 years ago, Ya, its been 10 years and i just cannot imagine how fast the time has flown away. Anyways, when i started my career i was theoretically prepared as i have done higher studies and i was always a brilliant student who has topped her University. But as they say, bookish knowledge is always not enough. Therefore, sometimes i had experienced the situations where my knowledge was not working. Either the results were different or the patients were not ready to follow certain things. I mean, my work is a public dealing kind of a thing and i need to convince people to manage their health and to eat healthy. Imagine!!

So, what i want to say here is that over all these years, i have seen that you need an experience to quote something or to reach to a concrete result. Once you reach to a certain level of work experience you can tackle both the situations. You can easily seek the best solution to any problem and you can very easily convince people to listen to you. So, with all of my experience i have gained by dealing with thousands of people, i have come to a conclusion that what simple steps you should take to start a healthy lifestyle. Lol, bear with me if you find the intro so huge. I just wrote what comes into my mind but believe me the information you will get here has really come with experience.

People usually ask me that do they need to change their lifestyle all at once in order to get healthy or how are they and their health going to react with these changes? How they can start with it or what are the basic steps from where they can start? I always tell them to start with these 3 basic simple steps.
1. First step is to remove or at least avoid refined sugar from your diet. The best way to do this is to replace your refined sugar with natural sweeteners like coconut sugar, honey, maple syrup etc. Sugar is one of the main source of energy for our body. So, make sure that you select the one which is very easy for your body to handle and does not have any side-effects. Simple or refined sugar get very easily digested and instantly provides energy, hence; spiking up the blood sugar levels. On the other hand, natural sweeteners not only stabilise your blood sugar level but also gives you various minerals as they are not refined. Furthermore, do not forget that calorie count of these sugar are same as that of refined sugars. After all, sugars are sugars. So, you might want to watch their intake.

2. Second step is to include whole grains in your diet. Its high time now, stop eating refined flour. Instead of that, please opt for whole grain flour or include whole grains in your diet such as whole wheat, oats, bulgur wheat, barley, jowar etc. These whole grains will not only give you fibre but also due to their low glycemic index, will not spike up your blood sugar levels. That is why, your blood sugar levels will be maintained and you will not get those post-meal cravings or hunger pangs. As described in above point, natural or unrefined grains also provide so many vitamins and minerals, which gets ripped off during the refining process.

3. Finally, the third step is to avoid bad fat. People avoid all type of fat when it comes to weight loss as well as healthy eating but they don't know that healthy fat is very much important for our overall health. Know the difference between healthy and unhealthy fat and avoid unhealthy or bad fat. Stop, cooking in vegetable oil. I know it is a huge step as we are so much use to cooking in refined vegetable oil but the thing is refined vegetable oils are very much unstable and when we expose them to high heat they tend to change their composition and become bad for our body. If possible, use animal fat or saturated fat for cooking such as butter or coconut oil. You can also use olive oil but again try to include it raw in your food. It will give you more health benefits. One point here to keep in mind is that you should take care of quantity. We are opting for saturated fats because they are healthy not because they have less calories. So, restrict the quantities like you are already doing.
So, these are the 3 main steps which will start your journey towards a healthy lifestyle. If your goal is to lose weight, let me assure you that just by following these three rules, you will automatically start losing weight and if you want to maintain a healthy life, nothing can be better than this approach. From here onwards, you can build so many other healthy habits.
Always, remember to be easy on yourself and start one thing at a time so that you can stick with that. This is about a lifestyle change, where consistency is the key. So, start slow and adjust your life with that healthy change. I wish you all the very best.
I hope, it will help you and now it is your turn to tell me that what basic steps do you follow to have a healthy and clean life. Share some of your thoughts in the comment section below so that we all can learn from each other. I will be glad to learn new things.
Be happy and stay healthy!!
