You must have heard of fruit and nut chocolate, but fruit and nut salad? Fruit chat, fruit salad or fruit and nut salad, whatever you may call it but the thing is that this recipe is way too different from the normal fruit chat and off course, the fruit and nut chocolate. I have seen many other recipes of fruit chat over the Internet but mostly all of them has hung curd dressing. That is OK but sometimes i want a different taste and i was thinking how can i create one. The fact that i am fasting during these Navratras has made me create this fruit salad recipe as i was so bored of eating the whole fruit daily. You know that when you are observing any fast, you have to restrict yourself from so many foods and frankly speaking, after 4 days, it is very difficult to stick to just plain fruits. So, i thought i should make a fruit chat, which i am, to be very honest, very lazy to do but then the hung curd dressing was not appealing to me this time.
Now this version of fruit chat has so many different tastes which when melts in your mouth together, gives you the satisfaction of eating something new and tasty too.

The nutty flavour of roasted peanuts, creaminess of cashew nuts, sweetness of fruits and honey when dissolve together in your mouth, it just feels right. On top of that walnuts and coconut gives it a unique flavour which i am sure you have never experienced. The icing on the cake is the salty taste of our vrat-famous Sendha Namak/white rock salt which, when mixed with all other delectable and yummy flavours, makes it a delicious treat that you can never avoid. The highlight of this recipe is the combination of all the flavours, which makes it unique and palatable.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Apple: 1
Pear: 1
Pomegranate: 1
Banana: 1
Shredded Coconut: few flakes
Walnut: 3-4 chopped
Cashew nut: 4-5 chopped
Roasted Peanuts: 2 tbsp
Honey: 1 tsp
Sendha Namak/White Rock Salt: 1/2 tsp
Method:
1. Wash all the fresh fruits.

2. Chop them into bite sizes and if you are taking the whole dry coconut, scrap out the flakes from it.

3. Chop the nuts as well, and if you don not have roasted peanuts, you can roast them before this step.

4. Mix all the chopped fruits and nuts together and drizzle some honey and sendha namak.

5. And your Fruit and Nut Salad is ready.
Total Time: 5-10 minutes
Serves: 2
This salad is so tempting, nutritious and healthy that you must give it a try. The best thing about this is that it is very filling. So, if you are having it during your fast, it can very well keep you full for long.
Note:
If you are not observing any fast, you can still have this salad as a light meal or as a side dish to a main course. Also, if you want you can replace the white rock salt with table salt then.
Use any nuts of your choice instead of cashew nuts and walnuts.
I would suggest to use cashew nuts and roasted peanuts as these will provide you the exact creaminess and nutty flavour.
You can use maple syrup instead of honey or omit using any kind of sweetener altogether as the fruits will surely give the sweet flavour to the salad.
If you are watching your weight or your calorie intake, you can still have this salad as it is not that high in calories and is highly nutritious.
