10 Habits of a Healthy Lifestyle

Having good habits are always important in life and when it comes to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it is very important to have some healthy habits. I have started following some habits few years back and these habits have changed my life. These are some basic habits which one should anyways follow regularly.

I am sure you already know about these habits and are following these. However, if you are not, then what are you waiting for? Let's get you set on a healthy life track.

Always eat breakfast.
Yes, to start a healthy day and a healthy life, start having breakfast daily. Having a breakfast will give you energy and stamina to work throughout the day. I always suggest people to have a healthy and protein rich breakfast as that is very important.
Try not to have your smart phone in your bedroom.
By not having your phone near you when you wake up, you are starting a stress free day as you are not grabbing your phone immediately after waking up. It will set your mind on a calm and relaxed approach. Plus, you will get some time to spend with your family.
Get upside down once a day.
It means get your heart above your head once a day. It will increase the blood flow to your brain. It is basically an inversion. It can be a hand stand, head stand or a downward facing yoga pose. It is Adhomukha Shvanasna in hindi. The main idea behind is to increase the blood flow to your brain.
Hydrate yourself.
Water is so much important for our body. Having a hydrated body will give you more energy, good digestion, fast metabolism and what not? So, make it a habit to have at least 3-4 litres of water in a day.
Get rid of white foods.
By white foods i mean salt, sugar and processed foods. These foods are no good for your body. You can always replace them with so many healthy options. For example, replace white table salt with black salt or Himalayan pink salt, white processed sugar with coconut sugar and processed white flour with whole grain flour. Enjoy your taste but with healthy options. If you cannot avoid it completely, at least limit the intake.
Add one raw food to your meal daily.
Having raw food will give you fibre, vitamins and minerals. It will also keep your digestion and metabolism healthy. You can add it in any form. For example, start having a smoothie in your breakfast or add a big bowl of salad in your lunch or dinner.
Make a sleep routine.`
Go to sleep and get up in the morning at the same time daily. If you cannot make it to the exact time daily, make sure to do it approximately at the same time. By following this kind of routine, you are giving your body a routine and a reason to perform its best.
Be active everyday.
Be it a little bit of physical activity or a heavy work out, you should be active daily, especially if you have a sitting job. Most of the diseases today are due to sedentary lifestyle. So, break the routine of sitting for a long time and be active. You can go for a walk, do some household activities, a little bit of stretching, anything will do.
Brush your teeth twice daily.
You must be thinking, who does not know that? But tell me, how many of us regularly follow this routine. Dental health is as much important as the other aspect of our well being are. We always talk about physical health, mental health and social health but never discuss our dental health. So, start brushing your teeth twice daily.
Be grateful for the things you have.
Last but not the least, be grateful for the things you already have. Remember all the good things you have in your life and forget about the things which make you sad or which disappoint you. The things which makes you feel negative should not have any place in your life. You are the one who choose positivity or negativity for yourself. So, be happy, be grateful and have a contend life.
